ECOfit is a support program of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection and Energy Sector that has existed since 2005 in environmental protection for companies and other organizations (e.g. associations, municipalities, schools, church institutions, etc.).
The Erikson Hotel took part in the ECOfit project for the Böblingen district in 2007 and was recognized as an ECOfit company after the project was completed.
The most important goals of the funding program include:
Reduction of costs by reducing the consumption of energy, water and supplies as well as the generation of waste and wastewater
Contribution to environmental relief by improving environmental performance
Creation of legal conformity in the environmentally relevant areas

Sindelfingen: The Erikson Hotel is doing a lot to reduce CO2 emissions
The Sindelfingen Erikson Hotel makes an important contribution to climate protection. In January 2018, the new combined heat and power plant was put into operation. In July of this year, a photovoltaic system was added to the hotel roof.
"We believe in renewable energies," says Wolfgang Kramer, Senior Manager of the Sindelfingen Erikson Hotel. Managing Director Peter Kramer agrees with his father: “Sustainability plays a major role in our hotel. In addition to making a contribution to climate protection, the combined heat and power plant and photovoltaic system also save money.” And the numbers are impressive. The combined heat and power plant alone has saved a total of 260 tons of CO2 in the Erikson Hotel since January 1, 2018. “This corresponds to 1.7 million kilometers that you could drive by car. That's enormous," says Peter Kramer.
For guests who cannot or do not want to travel by car, there is an S-Bahn connection directly opposite our house.
The bus station is about 2 minutes walk from us.
More and more of our hotel guests use the proximity of the Erikson Hotel to the surrounding companies and cycle to work. You can now conveniently park your bike in our underground car park.
The S-Bahn station opposite offers cyclists and nature lovers staying at the Erikson Hotel great connections to popular cycling and hiking trails in nearby Schönbuch and Heckengäu.

Also in 2021, Sindelfingen met all the criteria for the Fairtrade Towns campaign and can call itself a "Fair City".
The Erikson Hotel also offers fair trade products and thus contributes to the campaign.

The success of our industry begins with the training of our specialists.
That is why we have been training professionals at the Erikson Hotel for many years. We are very proud if you stay with us after your training and strengthen our team. But we are also pleased when they take advantage of the wide range of opportunities offered by the hotel and catering industry and move out into the world to develop further.
Our trainees are an important part of our successful team. In the certification process for a TOP training company by our industry association DEHOGA, they rated our good training work very positively. As a result, we received the DEHOGA quality seal “TOP training company” in March 2022.
Many thanks, dear trainees!
As a long-standing local family business, we feel very connected to the city of Sindelfingen, the residents and the surrounding companies.
It goes without saying that we also help where help is needed, which is why we support social projects or institutions for the common good.
Examples:
Feasting for the community foundation Sindelfingen, the proceeds will be donated to the community foundation
Support for various sports clubs in Sindelfingen and the surrounding area
Child Protection Association
Ukraine Aid
In the years 19 to 2021 we invested a sum of xxxxxxx,- € in the Erikson Hotel.
Here is a small list of the largest investments in recent years:
combined heat and power plant
Einbau Blockheizkraftwerk
Installation of combined heat and power plant
Renewal of air conditioning
Refurbishment of underground car park
room renovations
Refurbishment of counter area in hotel bar
Renovation of the kitchen floor
Renewal of carpeting in lobby
Projects for 2023:
Renovation of the exterior facade
Conversion/renovation of the hotel restaurant
Conversion/renovation of the conference area
In 2018 we completed the bathroom renovation in our hotel rooms. The bathtubs have been removed from all bathrooms and replaced with spacious, walk-in showers with glass doors and glass walls.
We are renovating our hotel rooms in stages. The renovation is expected to be completed by 2024. We have opted for modern yet timeless color concepts. The beds were particularly important to us. All mattresses are replaced here and the beds are given completely new bed panels with beautiful photo motifs and indirect, energy-saving lighting. The seating furniture and the window curtains were also renewed.
In March 2023, our e-charging station in the hotel underground car park went into operation. We draw the electricity for this from our photovoltaic system on the hotel roof.
So far we have had a charging station for our hotel guests, who can now “refuel” their cars during their stay.
From April to the end of May 2023 we completely repainted the exterior of our house. The result is impressive. A harmonious color combination of a light cream tone and darker taupe (below in the base area) ensures a fresh and modern look.
Glass foils with effective sun and heat protection were applied to the window areas, especially on the sunny sides. The view from the inside to the outside is retained. The rooms are still bright and flooded with light. This ensures a positive indoor climate. The foils get the high sun protection effect from reflecting and absorbing functional layers. Thanks to the high energy rejection through the films, our air conditioning system is relieved because less cooling capacity is required.
Front and back of the newly renovated Erikson Hotel.
In August 2023 we renovated our hotel restaurant.
A new room layout, a fresh color and lighting concept as well as contemporary furniture and an expansion of the buffets bring atmosphere and cosiness into the room. Intelligent storage spaces and practical work surfaces should fit sensibly into the new look.
The architectural firm buerohauser from Altensteig and Berlin supported us from planning to carrying out the renovation.
Please also read the article “Optical Transformation”, which appeared about us in the Hotelbau magazine in January/February 2024.
Here you can find the article “Scandi Style in Sindelfingen”, about our restaurant renovation in the trade magazine “HOTEL+TECHNIK” 05/2024.
Parallel to the renovation of the hotel restaurant, we also renovated our conference and event area on the 1st floor of the Erikson Hotel.
The focus here is on a newly designed bar and lounge area, tables and chairs in a new design and an elegant color concept. As before, the rooms will be used for conferences and seminars as well as for events such as birthdays, weddings and similar celebrations.
The architectural firm buerohauser from Altensteig and Berlin also supported us in this project from planning to carrying out the renovation.
